Howdy fellas! The trench base model is prepared for painting, so it’s time to finish the construction stage with the first YouTube video. Currently, I am catching up with the commentary, and the channel launch is fast approaching. As for the model, the stand glues together very quickly. Unfortunately, it requires quite labor-intensive puttying of the surface smoothly. If you plan to make the sides black, a decent sheet of sandpaper is worthwhile. However, I had a different idea, so I carefully sanded only the base bottom part and patched the top so there were no holes and gaps that could later cause uncontrolled collapse and cracking of the mud paste.

However, I intend to cover the base entirely with earthen structures. This seems a more interesting idea than just mudding the top and front. This will allow me to make an interesting effect of earth layers with changing colors. Therefore, I can and should skip putting and sanding the sides smoothly. I rub the whole thing with rough 240 paper to increase adhesion for future treatments on the model. I will make the earth from the cracking mud paste, which perfectly imitates sand and loose earth with the right technique and diluting it with water.

Important! Numbering the planks and bags
Since I will be painting the trench reinforcement boards and bags separately for ease of use, I have labeled them with their numbers before cutting them out of the frames. This will make it easier to identify later where to glue what. Yes, I know, there is not much of it, and I could do without it ;). But why make things harder for yourself when you can make things easier.

I’m finishing the video’s final editing and catching up with the commentary. The video is coming soon. Just remember that it will appear a few days more shortly for Super Patrons. They, too, will be mentioned in the credits of the video.
